FIRST Tech Challenge is a robotics program developed by For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (First) and is designed to encourage interest and long-term careers aspirations in STEM fields..
The challenge gives secondary students the chance to work and create together and to engineer and program a robot that competes in a sports style event. Teams utilise engineering and coding to build and compete with their robot. The experience also develops self confidence and interpersonal skills while applying science and mathematics in a practical, hands on competition.
The FIRSTTech Challenge 2016-2017 season opens in September 2016. The Australian national tournament will be held in December 2016 with the best teams being selected to represent our country in the FIRST World Championships in the USA. Visit the Australian FIRSTTech website for more information.
